HP Victus 15 review: A budget gaming laptop with a 144Hz display

PCWorld

The 2024 HP Victus 15 is a great budget gaming machine, but it's not ideal for much else. PC gaming is still thriving after the pandemic-era GPU drought and the crypto mining hysteria, but GPUs are only a little bit cheaper. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get a solid gaming experience, though. HP claims its newest Victus 15 laptop offers desktop power without breaking the bank. And, if playing games is all you care about, this notebook won't disappoint.

Engadget

Some of the biggest deals in tech right now come courtesy of Samsung Week, a sales event running through November 1st, in which the electronics giant has discounted a wide swath of their current-model devices. We also found Halloween sales from JBL, XBOX and PlayStation with discounts on older models and titles. Amazon's Echo devices are also on sale, with the Echo, Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5 all at least 40 percent off. Here are all the best tech deals from this week that you can still get today.

Treading New Ground in Consumer Electronics - Taiwan Business TOPICS

#artificialintelligence

Taiwan's consumer electronics providers have begun exploring new market segments in the face of slowing global economic growth, decreased replacement demand, persistent concerns over the U.S.-China trade war, and stiff competition from China. The 2019 edition of IFA, one of the world's largest consumer electronics exhibitions, which was held in Berlin in September, provided a glimpse into the progress some of these companies are making. Acer, known primarily for its consumer notebooks and tablets, showed off a few new additions to its line of gaming-oriented computing products designed to please some of the world's most demanding gamers. The company's Predator brand, launched in 2016, includes gaming notebooks, desktops, and displays that boast ultra-low response times and ultra-high resolution. They also contain extra-efficient cooling technology to facilitate long hours of gaming despite the energy-gobbling graphics.

Samsung Slowly Filling In Its Computer Line With New Notebooks And Chromebooks Announced At CES 2017

Forbes - Tech

Samsung Electronics is best known for mobile products like smartwatches, smartphones and tablets and of course, HDTV and appliances, but not so much as a computer company. I wasn't expecting Samsung to be so computer-heavy this year at CES 2017, but they really were. Of course, Samsung will always have new TV announcements and the latest and greatest in home appliances and recently smart home at CES, but PCs have been a less common occurrence in recent years. CES 2017 was without a doubt an exception to that this year with a multitude of new PCs ranging from Chromebooks all the way up to gaming notebooks. Samsung appears to be broadening their efforts in the PC space into areas that have the most potential for growth, rather than just putting out computers for the sake of being present in the market.
